Meet our Teacher Rachel
Rachel has been working with children for over 18 years. She started her career working as a private nanny for 15 years and running her private child care center for over 4 years. She has worked with infants through school age and is a mother of a preschooler. She is trained in first aid and is dedicated to providing a safe and clean environment for the children. Rachel loves to interact with the children, providing crafts and games to entertain and teach at the same time.

Our Approach to Child Care
Here at Abigail’s Playroom we strive to provide a safe and nurturing environment where the children can learn and grow. We treat all children in our care as if they were our own, with love and kindness, in order to give them the best opportunity to become their best selves. We believe that the best way to learn is through play so we provide free play (supervised) as well as structured play.
We understand that each child is unique and we strive to work with parents to find the best for each child. We will always strive to inform parents of disciplinary needs as well as the successes of their day. We know children are forgetful so when they break a rule, or get in a disagreement with another child we give them two reminders before we step in with timeouts.
Children (especially toddlers) tend to be accident prone so all bumps and scrapes will be reported to parents at the end of the day. We are trained in first aid and CPR, and are always ready with a bandaid for those in need.
Our Policies
Abigail’s Playroom strives to provide a safe environment for all who are involved, if your child is consistently violent or abusive to other children or staff, Abigail’s Playroom has the right to ask that child to no longer attend and the contract will be terminated.
All clients of Abigail’s Playroom will be charged an hourly or weekly rate negotiated at the signing of the contract.
All payments will be collected on a weekly basis, on Fridays. Late payments could result in a fee of $25.00 per day, if payment, including all fees, is not collected by Monday morning, your child or children will not be admitted.
All cancellations must be made with at least 24 hour prior to scheduled care, failure to do so could result in a minimum $50.00 cancellation fee.
All children must be picked up on time, unless scheduled, any late pick up could result in a late fee of $20.00 for every 30 minutes late.
Sick Children: if your child has a fever of 99.9 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, has vomited within the previous 12 hours, or is actively coughing, they will not be permitted to attend Abigail’s Playroom.
Abigail’s Playroom will only administer prescription medication as needed and will not administer over the counter drugs.
Vacations: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, and New Years Day are all days off free of charge. Abigail’s Playroom also provides each child off for vacations at no charge per year. All other days children take off must be paid half price of contracted rate. All vacations must be scheduled a minimum of 14 days prior to vacation. Abigail’s Playroom reserves the right to be closed at no cost to the parents, two weeks out of the year. This closure will be scheduled a minimum of 2 months in advance.
